Good to calibrate the MS before each run, although PIGEON can salvage a run that was miscalibrated >7ppm
- run binary pump at 90%B for >10min
- pour ~0.5ml from agilent low tune mix bottle in deli fridge into epi tube
- suck up the tune mix with the syringe (~0.5ml)
- switch on calibration pump and pump for ~10min to fill capillary
- switch source inlet to calibration pump
- set to MS only mode
- can keep other parameters (dry temp, spectra rate, etc.) the same
- once you can see big peaks (such as 922da), go to Calibration tab and then hit calibrate a few times until all the errors are low (<1)
- hit accept
- method->save
- switch source inlet back to leap, shutoff calibration pump
- run binary pump for 90%B for >10min again before changing to desired %B
