Project team round

Here we discuss topics that need broader attention, for example questions that came up but are outside a single project's scope, larger planned changes/PRs that affect all teams or pending work that is blocked by external factors.

• NESTML: final issues towards NESTML 4 release
• PyNEST no updates
• Kernel: find people to work on issues in hackathon #1960, #1952, #1933
• Installation: Python virtual environments, 1-day hackathon planned with Dennis (not yet scheduled--perhaps together with hackathon next week).
• Infrastructure: no updates (new issue with GitHub Actions
• Documentation: Jonas is working on multicompartmental documentation together with SK and PB; see #1988. Style guide: WIP.
• EBRAINS: no updates
• RNG: new benchmarks/tests of new generators
• Automated testing: no updates
• Extension module system: coming along well; JE had design session with SK and HEP

In-depth discussion

• EBRAINS infrastructure voucher secured to fund NEST Sonata support, in collaboration with Allen Institute. Might be integrated with reading connectivity from other file types.

• In situ hackathon report: discussion about how to release production. RWTH, WK team, Trier team, NRP team, NEST Desktop team. Prototype of in situ pipeline (with streaming data) was made running with NEST Desktop. MPI enabled NEST Server now available.
