Cabinet Build Fans

I went with the Arctic P12 PWM PST CO Fans. I wanted PWM so I could use a thermal controller and allow for very low speeds. Arctic is a favorite no-nonsense budget option. Yes, these fans are pressure optimized but they move enough air and I'm using enough of them that I don't think it matters. Avoid the 'FST' models -- tempting because they're cheaper but the motors are not as good. Arctic's 'PST' inclusion on their PWM fans is nice (in a nutshell they're pre-wired for daisy-chaining which is exactly what I needed). I opted for the CO (continuous operation) models which use bearings meant to be operated... well.. continuously.

I looked at all kinds of exotic mounting options including these unsightly monstrosities from Ali. Ultimately I decided on a little more budget / little more DIY option. I found these aluminum extrusion corner brackets on Amazon with measurements close enough to the fans' mounting holes that I was confident I could make them work.

They have these little nubs meant to be fitted into the aluminum extrusion track they're designed for, but nothing a lil' kiss on the belt sander can't fix. (Or a little extra effort with a file or a table and a piece of sandpaper if that's what you're working with).

At this point the holes line up close enough that you could make them work no problem... but if you've got the tools why not do it up a little more better.

I took a gnat's butt hair off the back of each shelf on the router table which gave a little recessed lip for the bracket to snuggle up to and lines the holes up perfectly (shown here on a piece of test pine).

Here's an install shot on my work-in-progress sub shelves for the final build.
