Wish: alternative syntax for wiki page names

AndyGlew edited this page Mar 18, 2020 · 1 revision

I want syntax that can be used to generate multiple alternative wiki page names, to make page names read more naturally, at least in English.

E.g.

  • singular/plural: "Item{s}" => allows both "Item" and "Items" to refer to the same page page.
  • capitalization: "[Ii]tem" => allows both "Item" and "item" to refer to the same page page.

Combining: "[Ss]watch{es}" ...

This is my usual alternative notation.

Applies to generating names that can be matched in wiki text. Does not need to actually generate different URLs, although that might be convenient to allow cross-linking between wikis.
