Fitting the SmartSpin2k
We need your bike model and if it's not already in our small database of inserts, you'll have to send some measurements and photos of your bike's resistance knob and work on a custom insert for you. Look at the design reference photos for some photographic inspiration :)
The main things needed are:
-
The distance from the center of the knob to the back of the head tube (Critical measurement because if it's less than 49mm it may not fit).
-
The largest diameter of the knob (Outside-Outside of the finger grooves) (a straight-on top down photo so I can see how many lobes are on the knob)
-
The smallest Diameter of the knob (inside-inside of the finger grooves).
-
A side profile of the knob so we can see how much "barrel" it has as well as the height of the knob.
Since there's a lot of variability on knobs and methods of measuring, sometimes it doesn't come out right on the first try.
Also keep in mind that due to a bunch of factors (mostly because we don't want to break things), the SmartSpin2k isn't a "torque monster". It provides a reasonable amount of torque and should move your knob from stop to stop on a magnetic bike and at least most of the way on friction based resistance bikes. You might have to clean and lubricate your bikes mechanism or loosen a knob tension adjustment to get optimum travel out of it.
