Chute Mechanics

Some conveyor aware machines use chute-like mechanics. This includes e.g. the Conveyor Hopper or the Chute. These machines will drop their products or content downwards. If there is an inventory there, they will use that. This includes Conveyors, by design this will target the center slot as the items arrive from the top. If there is air or a liquid, the items will drop into the world.

On some machines this behaviour can be toggled in their settings panel (currently part of the Inventory GUI). A prime example are the Conveyor Hoppers. By default they do not drop into the world - only if they are told to do so.
