* Blank scrolls are found in the wizardry tab and stack to 64.
Scrolls are single-use spellcasting items. They can sometimes be found in loot chests, and may also be created by binding a spell to a blank scroll in the arcane workbench.
Blank scrolls may be crafted from 1 paper and 1 string (there is a config option to also require a magic crystal). A blank scroll may be placed in the arcane workbench, allowing a spell to be bound to it by placing a spell book in the workbench along with enough magic crystals to cast the spell. When the 'apply' button is pressed, the crystals will be consumed and the blank scroll will become a spell scroll, which has an enchantment glow effect. If the spell bound to a scroll is continuous, it will be cast for 6 seconds before the scroll is consumed, and the amount of mana required to create such a scroll will be the spell's cost per second multiplied by 6.
Spell scrolls can also be found in loot chests in dungeons and wizard towers.
The crafting recipe for blank scrolls
Binding a spell to a scroll in the arcane workbench
Pressing the use item button whilst holding a spell scroll will cast the spell that is bound to it, destroying the scroll in the process. If the player has not previously cast the spell, this will cause it to be discovered - this can be useful for identifying higher-tier spells if you do not yet have a wand powerful enough to cast them.
Placing a scroll in a dispenser and powering the dispenser will, in most cases, cast the spell in the direction the dispenser is facing. The spell will behave as if cast by a non-player, so will not grant experience for kills or count towards spell discovery. Most spells can be cast by dispenser, except when it would make little sense, such as for clairvoyance or transportation. Some spells behave differently when used in dispensers; for example, buff spells usually apply their buff to a creature standing directly in front of the dispenser.
- Wizards do not sell spell scrolls, and mobs do not drop them - they may only be found in chests or created by the player.
