STEPWAT2 models dry land steppe plant communities where water is the key factor in plant growth and mortality. The model uses SOILWAT2 to drive the water cycle. rSFSTEP2 is a wrapper for STEPWAT2 that allow production runs of multiple sites, climate scenarios, and input parameters.

STEPWAT2 is divided into different modules which interact with each other to simulate a plant community. Each module can be customized using their unique input files.
