Curiosity and creativity have shaped my journey from theatre technology to software development. For over two decades, I've explored how interactive technologies can solve problems, tell stories, and improve lives. I enjoy taking things apart to figure out how they work, and as a naturally curious self-learner and motivated researcher, I’ve spent much of my professional and personal life blending technical expertise with creative problem-solving. I've taught at universities and worked as a Lighting Designer, Sound Designer, and Production Manager. I'm dedicated to environmental conservation, education, and creating meaningful, sustainable solutions for a better world while we share our journey on a fast-spinning rock around a giant fireball in the sky.
I bring a lifetime of experience solving complex technical and logistical problems, collaborating with talented teams, and leading large-scale projects with tight budgets and challenging deadlines. As an entertainment technologist, I repeatedly mastered a diverse range of tools and techniques, tackled ambiguous requirements, and delivered innovative solutions in unconventional environments. My time as a university educator deepened my skills in fostering growth mindsets, learning alongside others, and mentorship. Having been fortunate to learn from incredible mentors in theatre and technology, I’m eager to pay that forward whenever possible.
Crafting tangible and ephemeral experiences out of ideas, technology, collaboration, and hard work has been a constant theme throughout my personal and professional journey. Building on my foundation in theatre technology and education, I transitioned into software development to apply my problem-solving expertise, creative thinking, and leadership skills to new challenges in tech. Decades of experience rapidly learning and mastering both software and hardware technologies have equipped me to thrive in fast-paced, innovative environments. Currently, I’m crafting code with an awesomely talented team at Clevyr, where I’m excited to continue developing impactful solutions through technology, creativity, and collaboration.
