Adding mbps and hour as unit of measurements, in order to quantify carbon footprints for IT-related and desk services respectively. See https://backlog.carbon-transparency.org/Explore-the-possibility-of-including-service-carbon-footprints-methodology-3a9e509d97114e058cbacac03a859b9f

mbps is a rate so seems like a surprising unit of measure? I would expect it to be more like Mb, for example carbon per Mb of data transmitted; vs carbon per Mb of data per second. Do you have more information on the use case here?

I think the reasoning was as follows: the 'product' has a certain amount of emissions depending on intensity of usage. The data-recipient (presumably the one using the product) can calculate the actual emissions because it has the amount of time the product has been used.

@scottgifford Thanks for your remarks, Scott. After consultation with methodology, the consensus is on towards MB (megabyte) (instead of mbps) and hour. Will discuss in Jan 15 Tech WG
