Project Abstract

The Web 3 Association is looking to refine and expand on its existing treasury knowledge resources about disbursement approaches and incentive design and also create community incentives to help with encouraging people from across the industry to provide their feedback and expertise that help to improve these resources.

Grant level

  • Level 1: Up to $10,000, 2 approvals
  • Level 2: Up to $30,000, 3 approvals
  • Level 3: Unlimited, 5 approvals (for >$100k: Web3 Foundation Council approval)

Application Checklist

  • The application template has been copied and aptly renamed (web3-association-sponsorship-2023.md).
  • I have read the application guidelines.
  • Payment details have been provided (bank details via email or Polkadot (USDC & USDT) address in the application).
  • The software delivered for this grant will be released under an open-source license specified in the application.
  • The initial PR contains only one commit (squash and force-push if needed).
  • The grant will only be announced once the first milestone has been accepted (see the announcement guidelines).
  • I prefer the discussion of this application to take place in a public or private Element/Matrix channel. My username is: @lovegrovegeorge:matrix.org

The proposal is ready however should remain unmerged even if approved for the minute as I am in the process of a company name and registered address change which just need to be confirmed. I will update this PR once this is complete. The proposal however is ready for any feedback!

Thanks for the application. However, the grants program focuses on open-source software development and research. We also usually require concrete (technical) deliveries. Therefore, I don't think the application is a fit and will close it. I encourage you to take a look at the treasury itself for this kind of funding as well as our new program: https://futures.web3.foundation/ Let me know if you have any questions or disagree.

@Noc2 no worries at all. The grants Wiki uses the wording of "Research" - https://grants.web3.foundation/docs/process. Which was how i arrived at the grants process being suitable for the research & analysis that my project is doing. The wording there and across the Wiki could potentially be more explicit on what's accepted - unless I'm missing something very obvious elsewhere not sure. Thanks!
