Project Abstract

Please replace these instructions with a brief description of your project summarising key points (1-2 paragraphs).

If your application is a follow-up to a previous grant, please mention which one in the first line of the abstract and include a link to previous pull requests if applicable.

Grant level

  • Level 1: Up to $10,000, 2 approvals
  • Level 2: Up to $30,000, 3 approvals
  • Level 3: Unlimited, 5 approvals (for >$100k: Web3 Foundation Council approval)

Application Checklist

  • The application template has been copied and aptly renamed (project_name.md).
  • I have read the application guidelines.
  • Payment details have been provided (bank details via email or Polkadot (USDC & USDT) or BTC address in the application).
  • The software delivered for this grant will be released under an open-source license specified in the application.
  • The initial PR contains only one commit (squash and force-push if needed).
  • The grant will only be announced once the first milestone has been accepted (see the announcement guidelines).
  • I prefer the discussion of this application to take place in a private Element/Matrix channel. My username is: @jfrevert:matrix.org (change the homeserver if you use a different one)

Thanks a lot for the application. This looks interesting to me and is something that we want to support. I have only two minor comments: Would you be willing to accept only USDC on Polkadot to a single address? We recently updated this. Additionally, could share a post address with us via [email protected] or add it to the document?

We're just excited in the ZK ecosystem, and want to build on it in Substrate. This would mainly be for sharing and learning. We like to experiment with similar ideas, so there's a chance we may build on it in the future when working on something similar.

Hi @Noc2 @semuelle , we re-evaluated our proposal and came to the conclusion that 10k is a bit low for 3 months of complex work for 2 devs. We would like to propose our grant as level 2, for 20k instead.

Thanks for the updates, @justinfrevert. I'm afraid that our experience shows that projects without a clear roadmap are, more often than not, quickly forgotten after a grant unless they quickly attract a large audience. I would recommend finding a project, or ideally multiple, that would be interested in leveraging and continuing this work.

However, I am going to mark your application as ready for review and share it with the rest of the committee.

Thanks a lot for the application and all the effort you put into this. The grants committee decided to close your application, partly due to the above reasons. Independent of it, we wish you all the best for your project.
