Release Summary :

SODA Madagascar v1.7.0 release is an incremental release over SODA Lamu v1.6.0 release of SODA Foundation.
The earlier stable release Lamu, you can get here.

SODA Open Data Framework (ODF) Madagascar v1.7.0 is released with enhanced features for heterogeneous storage performance monitoring to enable the user for easier deployment along with various existing storage vendor management platforms.
The Madagascar release comes with multiple features in Heterogeneous Storage Performance Monitoring(SPM) viz., Host mapping and Performance Collection updates for multiple drivers. This release has verified support for Delfin deployment on Ubuntu 20.04LTS. Projects like multicloud, dashboard and installer come with bug fixes and improvements
SODA Madagascar v1.7.0 can be trialed for heterogeneous performance monitoring and for all other existing features from container data management, on premise data management and multi cloud data management

    • Added Kahu project for container backup and restore for Kubernetes.
    • Metadata backup POC using NFS Provider from Kahu.

Heterogeneous Performance Monitoring (Delfin)

  • Added support for Centralized Manager to Heterogeneous Performance Metric Collection Framework
  • Driver enhancements for SPM
    • Host mapping support added for IBM SVC, DS8000, Dell EMC VNX Block, Dell EMC VMAX, Unity, NetApp, HPE 3PAR, MSA, Pure Storage, Fujitsu Eternus, Hitachi VSP etc
    • Performance metrics collection support added for HPE 3PAR, Dell EMC Unity,
  • Fixes and updates in the Framework & Driver code, OpenAPI Spec, Documentation etc.

Container Data Protection for Kubernetes

  • Added Kahu project for container backup and restore for Kubernetes.
  • Kahu initial deployment setup (with backup controller, metadata service and NFS Provider)
  • E2E flow for metadata backup for pod resource under specified namespaces
  • Support for NFS metadata provider

Multi-Cloud

  • 500 Internal Error for GET, PUT, DELETE Backend for a non existing backend
  • 500 Internal Error for Running a Job with a non existing Plan
  • Multi-cloud installation guide separation

SODA Experience & Quality

Installer:

  • Fixes for kubernetes CSI, set recommended dns policy
  • Enhancements and fixes in SODA Delfin and multi-cloud projects

Dashboard :

  • Implemented the Auth module. Added Login and Logout components and moved all the authentication code from app controller to the auth module.
  • [Delfin UI] Updated the delfin masking views as per the updated APIs.
  • Fixed console error on list storage service plans page when no storage service plans created.
  • Fixed create bucket error not visible when bucket is being created.
  • Fixed console error when user enters incorrect / unavailable page url in the address bar directly.
  • Fixed home page background color becoming white when user navigates to home page by clicking on SODA logo or by entering the url directly in address bar.
  • Fixed active menu item not getting highlighted in the left menu.
