ASKI main package, release version 1.2

This is the release version 1.2 of the ASKI main package by August 2016.

In general, version 1.2 should be compatible with 1.1 in terms of file formats and general use of the software. Actually this is only an intermediate release and version number 1.2 only denotes the status of the code when moving the development repository permanently to git.

Compared with the previous release, there is now an additional subdirectory devel/ containing developer tools and developer documentation, there is additional documentation in doc/ (Florian Schumacher's doctoral dissertation and a re-typeset form of the 2016 GJI ASKI paper), and some more functionality is available (in particular new tool chunksInvgrid2vtk, and tools to generate shore line vtk files from native binary GSHHS shore line data files).

This is the release version 1.1 of the ASKI main package, provided for download by March 2016.

In general, version 1.1 should be compatible with 1.0 in terms of file formats and general use of the software. The main reason for this release was the fix of a pointer problem with gfortran. Compared with the previous release, some more tools are available (addSpikeCheckerToKim, createSpectralFilters, create_ASKI_evstat_filters.py) and forward-code-specific definition of complex frequencies is available (e.g. for use with Gemini). Some bugs were fixed.

This is the release version 1.0 of the ASKI main package, provided for download by December 2015.

Also provided for download here, is the synthetic cross-borehole inversion example ASKI_inversion_cross_borehole.tar.gz as well as its additional kernel files ASKI_inversion_cross_borehole_sensitivity_kernels_iter04-iter12.tar.gz (from our 2016 GJI paper, documented in the manual). This inversion was conducted using SPECFEM3D_Cartesian as a forward code, in particular release 1.0 of the SPECFEM Cartesian extension. In order to get started with this example package, you may use the commands in the provided script ASKI_inversion_cross_borehole_run.sh (adjust the variable ASKI). Please also refer to the user manual (chapter "workflows") on documentation of the example.

Furthermore, you can download here the very short spherical example ASKI_example_spherical_small.tar.gz (originally provided for download on http://www.rub.de/aski) of computing a waveform kernel for just one source-receiver pair (using the setting of example regional_Greece_small from the SPECFEM3D_GLOBE 7.0.0 release package, on 4 CPU cores only). This example uses release 1.0 of the SPECFEM GLOBE extension. Please refer to the user manual (chapter "workflows") on documentation of the example.

Pre-release

This is the very first release version of the ASKI main package, provided for download by September 2013. This version does not yet contain important features of ASKI developed after Sep 2013, so it is not recommended to use it, but provided here only for archiving reasons.
