Draft letter:
Hey ___,
I'm reaching out because you were previously pretty involved in the Sandstorm.io platform. A team of community members have recently started working on reviving the platform, and we've already begun pushing new features for app development (the "Cron API" is in the latest release, for example) and are working on assembling a roadmap for the near future.
Basically I'm just trying to find out whether or not people are still using the Sandstorm platform, and especially if you've moved on, what, if anything, would you need to see in order to bring you back. Are there bugs or missing features that would be the largest reason you are not using Sandstorm? Are there apps that are a must-have for Sandstorm to become your platform of choice? The community members involved in this effort are self-hosters, so our focus is going to be a bit different than previous work on Sandstorm may have been, and I feel like asking previous contributors and app developers is one of the best ways we can figure out what pain points are out there we need to address.
Thanks for any insight or help you're willing to provide!

- Controlled and admined only by Kenton (SPOF)
- Is this a priority?
- Is this the right thing that the community project needs, or is it designed for sandstorm-as-a-company?
- Consensus is that it seems to be pretty close right now.
- Donation links
- Focus on the new/updated apps, demote the stale ones
Jacob Weisz
- As a business, Sandstorm was working on Enterprise sales.
- As a community project, we care a lot more about self-hosters, and they're the low hanging fruit anyway.
