Project Overview

The Melinda Webb School utilizes Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports for supporting students with behavior in the classroom. When students exhibit challenging behaviors, one of the first steps is to collect data to determine what the trends, triggers, and function of the child’s behavior are so we can implement appropriate and effective supports for that child. An app that has data tracking systems embedded could help us to collect data easily in the classroom and could also help in identifying recurring triggers more efficiently. This app could be extended with a game-like feature for students to be able to sort green (positive) vs. red (negative) behaviors to teach and reinforce positive behaviors.

Goals:

  1. Develop an application that allows the Melinda Webb School track each child's positive/negative behaviors in the classroom to identify ways to better improve the child's learning process.

  2. Build a full-stack application with the following essential features:

  • a game-like feature to track learning behaviors
  • a settings-page to determine the configuration of said game
  • an account page to view user details

Tech Stack:

Technologies: React Native, TypeScript, Nativewind, MongoDB, Prisma
