0.3 Pre-release
Pre-release

Version: 0.3
Release Date: November 8, 2024
Base Image: Armbian BIGTREETECH CB1
Filename: Armbian_24.8.1_Bigtreetech-cb1_bookworm_current_6.6.44_minimal.img.xz
Armbian Version: v24.8.4 (Debian 12)
Kernel Version: 6.6.44

Overview:
This image currently boots from SD card and some eMMC modules. Unfortunately, the original 8GB eMMC is not currently compatible due to a dtb file issue (investigating fixes), but the 32GB variant functions well.

Updates:

  • Klipper and components updated to the latest versions as of November 8, 2024.

Changes:
0.3:

  • Fixed NetworkManager issue causing OS updates in Fluidd to fail.

0.2:

  • Enabled 180-degree rotation for HDMI and Touchscreen.
  • Fixed Z Offset Calibration Macros.
  • Added automatic resizing to expand the root partition to the full capacity of the SD/eMMC.

Working Features:

  • Quad Gantry Leveling
  • Mesh Leveling
  • Adaptive Mesh Leveling
  • Input Shaping (requires specific configuration; see Notes)
  • Fan Control
  • Light Control
  • Timelapse
  • Webcam
  • Wi-Fi
  • Original LCD
  • eMMC boot (8GB eMMC not supported, 32GB eMMC compatible)
  • Updates from Fluidd

Non working:

  • Nothing I'm aware of...

Notes
The image operates without needing to flash updated firmware to MCUs. However, input shaping requires an updated Klipper firmware image. If you encounter configuration errors related to input shaping, such as with shaping config, you can comment out the [adxl345] and [resonance_tester] sections in printer.cfg and restart Klipper.

Non working:

  • Bug with OS updates from Fluidd

Built from the official Armbian BIGTREETECH CB1 image https://www.armbian.com/bigtreetech-cb1/
Filename: Armbian_24.8.1_Bigtreetech-cb1_bookworm_current_6.6.44_minimal.img.xz

Armbian v24.8.4 (Debian 12)
Kernel 6.6.44

Klipper and components up to date as of November 6 2024

Working:

  • Almost all expected features
  • Quad Gantry Levelling
  • Mesh Levelling
  • Adaptive Mesh Levelling
  • Input Shaping
  • Fan control
  • Light control
  • Timelapse
  • Webcam
  • Wifi
  • Original LCD
  • eMMC boot (8GB eMMC doesn't work, but 32GB does)

Currently not working:

  • Z offset macro (possibly missing variables, haven't had time to investigate)

To do:

  • Rotate HDMI 180 degrees
  • Finish setting up macros

Notes:
This currently works without flashing the MCU's with updated firmware however the input shaping config needs a more up to date Klipper firmware image so if you get errors about shaping config (I can't recall the exact error) comment out the [adxl345] and [resonance_tester] sections in printer.cfg and restart Klipper.
