Install OpenMOC

OpenMOC has been developed and tested on the following operating systems:

• Ubuntu 11.10
• Mac OSX Lion
• Gentoo

If you use either Ubuntu or OSX then please follow the instructions below to install OpenMOC on your system.

We have not tried compiling and running the code on any other operating systems, but we do not expect any problems compiling as long as you have installed the libraries which OpenMOC depends upon. In addition, you will need a C++ compiler which supports the 2011 C++ standards. We suggest using the GNU compiler gcc version 4.3 or above to satisfy this requirement.

The libraries which OpenMOC depends on are the following:

• Expat xml parsing library for C++
• ImageMagick
• libtiff, libpng, libjpeg
• Silo
