wakalito 1.1 pre-release changelog

  • The home screen icon now uses the short name "nasin Wakalito" like iOS.
  • New punctuation: VERT COMMA for ! and IKE DOT for ?
  • New sequence for jelo: UP HOR CIRCLE BOX, for symmetry with other colors.
  • Name mode is officially here! After secretly being in the repo for two months it's now officially confirmed. Press the cartouche button to enter it, type characters as normal, and then press cartouche again to release the word.

Open questions:

  • With ? in use, we need a new symbol for "unknown glyph". It is currently "ijo+ni+li+seme". Good?
  • How should name mode buttons work? Currently I use the name mode key to both start and stop name mode, so typing a name works like NAME SONA (space) ONA (space) NI (space) NAME. However, maybe using the space key to end name mode, for similarity with other words, should be done instead (NAME SONA (space) ONA (space) NI (space) (space)).
  • Should I have spaces be automatically typed after ), or ], or numbers? Or automatically before ( or [?
  • Did I document my code correctly? It's two months old and original release documentation was deleted, so I may have missed something. There are probably also bug fixes included.

Sequence requests are always welcome. Conveniences for existing words will be highly prioritized over new words, but all are welcome.
