Empire

  • The place where you set the levels of science, gold, and luxury is called the budget. -- see Issue #1242
  • The output of Tax is gold, Science is bulbs and Lux is luxury goods from the national budget.
  • The spaceship is spelled in one word.
  • Scientists discover new technologies and do not "achieve" them.

Cities

  • People in a city are called citizens.
  • Citizens manage tiles to extract food, production, and trade from it.
  • A Settler builds a city instead of "founds" one. We use build to match the command. Also "founding" a city feels like you lost it and then found it. This is also true for Diplomats. They establish an Embassy with another player and do not "found" one.
  • Until we come up with something better the output totals for food, prod, trade, gold, luxury and science on the General tab of the City Dialog are referred to as points

Game Interface

  • Things that float on the map are called widgets. Units, Demographics, Chatline, etc. are all widgets.
  • The alternate pages are called "views" instead of "reports". The City View is an example that used to be called the City Report
  • The client is really the game. Only super geeks worry about the client/server aspects. When talking about the client interface, refer to it as the game.
  • The minimap is spelled in one word and is not hyphenated.
