Small refactor & make php version consistent - is there any reason version can't be 8.4 or at least 8.3 across the repo?
successfully tested by:
creating a test-change.yml file:

on: [push]
jobs:
test:
uses: ./.github/workflows/coding-standards.yml
with:

message: "Testing commit message"
fix: true
then obviously removed file
