Caution: Upgrades are not well tested and may cause problems. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Recommendations

Always use a test environment to test the upgrade before.
If possible set up a new environment where you can do the upgrade. If upgrade was successful then switch over to the new environment.

Upgrade Paths

 3.4_d ----> 4.2_d to 4.2_f
 4.0_b ----> 4.2_d or newer
 4.2_b ----> 4.2_d or newer
 4.2_d ----> 4.2_e or newer
 4.2_e ----> 4.2_f or newer
 4.2_f ----> 5.0_a or newer
 5.0_a ----> 5.0_b or newer
 5.0_b ----> 5.0_c

Other paths may work, but not known.
