System Requirements

Components Minimum Requirements
CPU 4 Core
RAM 8 GB RAM

Update the Server

sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y
sudo apt install jq -y

Install Docker

curl -fsSL https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu/gpg | sudo gpg --dearmor -o /usr/share/keyrings/docker-archive-keyring.gpg
echo "deb [arch=$(dpkg --print-architecture) signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/docker-archive-keyring.gpg] https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu $(lsb_release -cs) stable" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/docker.list > /dev/null

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install docker-ce docker-ce-cli containerd.io
docker version

Docker Compose

VER=$(curl -s https://api.github.com/repos/docker/compose/releases/latest | grep tag_name | cut -d '"' -f 4)
curl -L "https://github.com/docker/compose/releases/download/"$VER"/docker-compose-$(uname -s)-$(uname -m)" -o /usr/local/bin/docker-compose

chmod +x /usr/local/bin/docker-compose
docker-compose --version

Install OpenSSL

sudo apt-get install openssl

Let's Pull the Repository to Our Server with Git

git clone https://github.com/vana-com/vana.git
cd vana

Prepare the Configuration File

cp .env.example .env

Now we need to edit the .env file

nano .env
  • WITHDRAWAL_ADDRESS Your EVM Wallet Address
  • DEPOSIT_PRIVATE_KEY EVM Wallet Private Key
  • USE_VALIDATOR Should be True
  • EXTERNAL_IP Your Server IP Address. CommandX/CommandY=Enter

  • If everything is complete, we will now create our validator key. This process may take some time.
docker compose --profile init --profile manual run --rm validator-keygen

For the first part, enter your EVM wallet address in the .env file as shown in the image.

In the second part, let's set a password 😁 (It may appear not to be typing, but it actually is)

You will be asked to re-enter the password

(Do not forget the password and save it somewhere; you will need it later)

Ekran Resmi 2024-09-24 20 56 58

Your words for the validator have been generated. Save these words somewhere and press Enter.

You will be asked for the words, let's fill them in.

Ekran Resmi 2024-09-24 21 06 11

Congratulations, your key has been created. Press Enter to continue.

  • Now enter the password you created earlier.
  • You will be asked to set a password to secure your wallet. (I used the same password)

Let's check the operations we have done.

docker compose logs check-config

Finally, let's start the interconnected structure of 3 components.

docker compose --profile init --profile validator up -d

Separate log checks

docker compose --profile=init --profile=node logs -f geth
docker compose --profile=init --profile=node logs -f beacon
docker compose --profile=init --profile=node logs -f validator

We will wait for the beacon section to synchronize.

Ekran Resmi 2024-09-24 21 22 13

Finally, our validator needs 35,000 tokens to say I'm here on the Moksha network.

This amount will likely be distributed through some elimination method or selection process.

If we have found tokens, let's say "I'm here" 😁

docker compose --profile init --profile manual run --rm submit-deposits

You can perform similar operations one by one for a service. (In the last parts, it's sufficient to change the names)

(instead of validator, use geth, beacon, etc.)

docker compose --profile=init --profile=node up -d validator
docker compose --profile=init --profile=node stop validator
docker compose --profile=init --profile=node restart validator

The operations are complete. I would appreciate it if you could leave a small star on the repo πŸ…
