Adding new variables to an existing atlas (based on Atlas Explorer)

AtlasExplorer allows controlling the variables that you want in your atlas. This is also true for all the atlases based on the Atlas Explorer mechanism.

To add a new variable to an existing atlas, you need to:

• add it to the list of variables
• add an alias for this variable for the different projects your are interested in (if needed, see this page)
• specify a reference (potentially add a data access to your own reference files)
• create a derived variable (combination of existing variables)
• add plot parameters, either in custom_plot_params or with the dictionary of the variable
