This is not the formal Terms of Service for Querki, and should not be taken as binding in any way. It is simply some thoughts on what they should include.

Content

By and large, I'd prefer to keep Querki content-neutral -- I neither know nor care what you put in it. But there are a few constraints:

  • Illegal Content of any sort is necessarily not allowed. We clearly will have to stomp hard on anything that will bring massive pain down on us, such as terrorist-related activities or child porn.
  • Adult Material probably has to be disallowed on sadly practical grounds: most of the major payment processors won't work with any business that permits any sort of adult material. I think that is staggeringly stupid (and frankly, a tad anti-American), but we can't afford to pick that fight.
  • Copyrighted material used without permission is forbidden under DMCA. That said, we do understand the laws reasonably well, and will not casually put up with DMCA abuse by copyright holders. Copyright is important, but so are fair-use rights. If you get served with a DMCA notice, and can argue persuasively that you are not in violation of the law, we will be as sympathetic and helpful as we can afford to be while you mount an appeal. (On the other hand, if you clearly are violating copyright, we aren't going to be nearly so sympathetic.)

None of this should affect 98% of Spaces -- so long as your content is legal, we'd like to have your business. The restriction on adult material is unfortunate, but the truth is that Querki is going to be an expensive option for hosting media, so it probably isn't ideal for most porn anyway.
