FAQs
- Do I need to have WhatsApp installed?
- Is there any way to know the changes of the WhatsApp beta updates?
- Do I need to manually check for updates when a new version of Beta Updater is available?
- Will be available on Google Play someday?
Well, it's not mandatory. But the sole purpose of Beta Updater is to keep WhatsApp updated to the latest beta version available, so it won't be very useful if you don't have WhatsApp installed.
NO, NO, AND AGAIN, NO. WhatsApp doesn't publish an official changelog for their beta updates, so it's not possible to track the changes of WhatsApp on every update.
Beta Updater includes an updater for the app itself, so you don't need to manually check for updates. Just make sure that you have enabled the "Check for updates" option in Settings. A dialog will be shown when a new version of Beta Updater is available to download.
No. According to the Google Play Developer Program Policies:
An app downloaded from Google Play may not modify, replace or update its own APK binary code using any method other than Google Play's update mechanism.
