Welcome to the stay-at-home-watch wiki!

We are now in the first week of April and the majority if not every country in the world has issued a stay-at-home order. The extent of enforcement is dependent on population density and number of COVID-19 cases in that region. Most people working for essential businesses go to work though obeying to the social distancing policies. To help understand human mobility and to support community and public health officials responses to COVID-19, Google Maps has released aggregated and anonymized reports on community mobility. These reports can provide insights into how policies are responded to at regional levels across different categories such as retail and recreation, groceries, pharmacies, parks, transit stations, workplaces, and residential places. The reports are, however, in the form of PDF and are not readily available to derive insights from on a larger and higher throughput scale. The Chloe team has initiated a project as part of Data vs Corona to derive insights from the Google Map reports, for instance to answer questions like the percentage of the population who are obeying the advisories and policies.
