schedule a regular Hangout #1943

Picking up from #1126 (comment) ...
Since I'm managing Gittip, Shields, Aspen, and the OCI, and that's kind of a lot, my basic strategy is to try to give a chunk of attention to each project approximately once a week, though I don't always succeed. What that means for Gittip is that I'm generally not going to participate in ongoing discussions on non-★★★ tickets. I think it's fine and valuable for others to do so to a moderate extent. I agree that @pjz's question at #1126 (comment) could have been answered, but it's not going to be me that answers it, because a) it's on a ★★☆ ticket (it wasn't three months ago when he asked his question, of course, because we didn't have priority labels yet), and b) he didn't ping me directly (even if he did, I might have led with, "Do you think we should bump this to three stars?"). The hot items for me this week were:
I'm keenly aware that Aspen is absent from that list. I owe @pjz some attention—and before our next monthly hangout—but I have my eye on AspenWeb/pando.py#280 and AspenWeb/pando.py#284, not on this ticket. In general, if I'm not answering someone's question, it's probably because I'm answering someone else's question instead. |
@seanlinsley All that said, it's totally fair and awesome for you to expect some slice of my attention, as someone who is committed to working on Gittip. :-) Could we start with a monthly one-on-one Hangout like I do with @pjz? What would be a good time for that? Who else is interested in a regular one-on-one Hangout? @zwn? |
@seanlinsley You asked for a biweekly team Hangout and I suggested a monthly one-on-one. I guess I'm thinking that it will be harder to coordinate a team Hangout, and it seems like it's really my attention that is most in demand? Open to hearing otherwise ... |
I have no idea which would be better. I'm new to this, too 🐙 As for a time, I could make pretty much anything work. |
@seanlinsley |
+1 for a regular [bi-]weekly standup hangouts. Seems particularly relevant to people who don't feel central enough for a one-on-one, but who appreciate the motivating factor of face-to-face interaction :) |
+1 from me also. |
1++ I'm good Wednesday and Thursday mornings. In general I promise to be more regular on IRC. I just get super busy sometimes and work in spurts on Gittip on my own. But I am active nowadays. |
How Wednesdays at 3pm UTC? Let's try a group Hangout this Wednesday (Jan 29) at that time. |
Leaving this open until our first Hangout on Wednesday (assuming that comes together). |
If 3PM UTC works for everyone I'm fine to sit out on every call you'll ever have. 8-5 m-f jobs are :( |
👍 |
Okay! Who's ready? :-) Join: https://plus.google.com/hangouts/_/hoaevent/AP36tYctiClB8cti_NwrvJ0Y033j7NpKkhadDkYnVgY33sT8e1swoQ |
Is it over?
|
@galuszkak Yeah, it's over. :-( But it sounds like we're going to have two regularly schedule hangouts each week, so you can get in next time. :-) |
Reticketed from #1126 (comment) and labelled DevX ★.
Who's interested? What times are good for you?
