Core WordNet had this convention while quoting within definitions or examples:

  • open with a backtick (`, aka grave accent)
  • close with apostrophe (', aka single quote)

This is not ideal (and I will later propose another scheme leaving the apostrophe to its original function, namely to ellipsize characters).

The number of quotations departing from this rule is quite limited for now and they're easy to correct.
This PR enforces the consistent, uniform application of the original WN quotation `xxx' scheme, a prerequisite for any change.

Incidentally, this will make any processing easier.
