PyCF is a collection of python modules and programs which can be used to manipulate glimmer CF data. Installation You will need the following packages * GMT http://gmt.soest.hawaii.edu/ * proj4 http://proj.maptools.org/ * Numeric http://www.pfdubois.com/numpy/ * Scientific Python http://starship.python.net/~hinsen/ScientificPython/ * pygsl http://pygsl.sourceforge.net/ * PySQLite http://pysqlite.sourceforge.net/ * PyGMT https://forge.nesc.ac.uk/projects/pygmt/ If your proj4 library is not in a standard location than you need to set the environment variable PROJ_PREFIX to point to the location where proj4 is installed. You should install PyCF into the GLIMMER_PREFIX, i.e. ./setup.py install --home=$GLIMMER_PREFIX since some modules query GLIMMER_PREFIX to find data files. RSL database If you want to use to RSL plotting methods and programs you need to first create/get the RSL database. You can download the Peltier's RSL database from ftp://ftp.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/data/paleo/paleocean/relative_sea_level/sealevel.dat The ascii data set can be converted to the SQLite database using PyCF/CF_IOrsl.py --create_db -p sealevel.dat $GLIMMER_PREFIX/share/PyCF/rsl.db Programs * create_topo.py - create input topo file * add_projinfo.py - add project info to existing CF file * plotCFvar.py - simple plot of CF file you can: - specify either a number of variables or a number of times that should be plotted - set the width of individual maps - set lower left corner and/or upper right corner of plot check plotCFvar.py -h
