- A question was raised on if the organizer can create new chapters. Based on prior conversations on Github about the admin role, we agreed for MVP that only the admin can create / approve a chapter.
- Post-MVP we might add the ability to request a new chapter. Or, the admin may be able to provide permission for an organizer to create new chapters. Again, any of this would be post-MVP.
- Quincy asked for volunteers to create a set of plain HTML pages with the controllers and views. Fran Zeko, Vaibhav Singh, Timmy Chen, and Bakhtiiar Muzakparov volunteered to work on this step and build out these pages in parallel.
- Quincy acknowledging the counter-intuitiveness of having multiple people do the same work, but his experience suggests this is important on volunteer projects so each person empathizes with the process and in case someone can't fulfill their commitment.
- Sarrita asked if Docker would be the appropriate tool at scale. Quincy suggested creating an issue on Github for that conversation. After the meeting, Jim linked to the earlier Docker / one-click hosting conversation.
Jim stubbed out Administrator FAQs
- Ping Quincy on Discord for meeting invites.
- The "Fantastic Four" front-end volunteer group will meet on Thursday to talk about prototyping the HTML. The design group is optionally invited. Another follow-up meeting will be set for this same group for the following Thursday.
- The next Chapter meeting will be on February 23rd, 2020. Quincy will send invites closer to the meeting.
