scalar quantity as subclass of bfo:continuant is problematic.

The duration of a process is a scalar quantity (a property of a phenomenon) in commons, but it is not a continuant as it changes continuously and therefore is an occurrent

Same are time derived such as velocity or acceleration. For these you can define the differential as continuant (the current speed), but most have to be profiles in BFO and are therefore continuants.

The quantity values (information about quantities) are continuants (GDCs)

@tw-osthus Ok thank you. I'll move scalar quantity up the food chain for the moment under entity and we can continue to iterate.

change of cmns-ctxdsg:Context to be subclass of bfo:Continuant instead of bfo:Entity is not correct

by the commons definition of context, the context as frame of reference can also be an BFO occurrent, e.g. a temporal context such as a season, an activity such as travel etc.
