Effect a change in the "stock" FAQ for data deposition to point to the SIS (or own pages) for format recommendations #22
Comments
(Post-CSC-meeting update): the way to go is contact a Lindat representative to ask for a modification of the FAQ (in dSPACE), and then to contact the affected centres asking them to update their versions. The links in the FAQ can either be to the format recommendation page as above, or, in case the text of the FAQ can be parametrized, they can include the identifier of the relevant centre, to form something like: https://clarin.ids-mannheim.de/standards/views/recommended-formats-with-search.xq?centre=IDS |
Discussed with Pavel Straňák during CAC-2022. It's a matter of a pull request (with appropriate motivation, and for that, we minimally need #180 ). |
This has to be done before the next CAC and after at least the first inputhon has presented some results. |
Finally, a step forward. Here is a link to the issue I have just posted: ufal/clarin-dspace#1124 I guess it makes sense to keep the present issue open until the DSpace@UFAL team makes a decision. |
We're leaving this one open until the upcoming release, because it's our anchor to the UFAL issue. |
(This has become a utility ticket -- a link to the UFAL issue that we should watch. So it's staying until the release and may be moved to the next milestone.) |
This issue is a bookmark for now, so we want to move it to 2.9.0, simply to keep it at hand. |
The first step in handling this ticket is to explicitly point to the stock FAQ that some centres use for the purpose of streamlining data deposition (see issue #14).
When we are reasonably ready, we should effect a change in that FAQ, in the question "What submissions do you accept"? To either point at the full list at https://clarin.ids-mannheim.de/standards/views/recommended-formats-with-search.xq or to qualify that link to preselect the particular centre.
