This Enhanced District Services mod is a mod for Cities Skylines that allows more granular control of services and supply chains. Previous other mods including the Enhanced Hearse AI, Service Vehicle Managers, and District Service Limit have enabled users to restrict local services to their home district, to prevent these services from servicing far away districts. This Enhanced District Services mod extends this functionality in the following ways:

  • Allow users to allow services to serve multiple districts, including specific Campus, Park, and Industrial districts, including or excluding their home district.
  • (Industries only) Allow users to restrict shipments between specific buildings as identified by their building ids.
  • (Industries only) Allow users to restrict incoming shipments from specified districts.
  • (Industries only) Allow users to restrict incoming shipments from or outgoing shipments to outside connections.
  • (Industries only) Allow users to control the amount of traffic from outside connections.
  • (Industries only) Allow users to reserve a percentage of goods to serve the user-specified districts or buildings. Excess goods are sold to buildings in other districts or outside connections.
  • Allow users to restrict vehicle models used by service and supply chain buildings. (Use Improved Public Transport 2 to customize transport lines.)

Recommended Mods

There are plenty of great and compatible mods, but in particular I will also recommend users use the Optimised Outside Connections 2.0 to deal with cargo trains clogging up the railways.

How to use the mod?

  • Draw your districts with the base game's Paint District tool.
  • Press Ctrl-D to toggle the policy tool on/off. (Users can override the hotkey in the mod settings.) The policies remain in effect when the policy tool is off.
  • Right-click and drag the EDS button to a more convenient location.
  • Click on a service or supply chain building to configure policies.

Services Building

basic_usage_1

  • BuildingId: The unique id of the building. You can also enter a valid building id to select that building's policies.
  • Outgoing Tab
    • All Local Areas: If selected, all local areas are serviceable. If not selected, then the districts served dropdown menu appears.
    • Districts Served: Allow users to select one or more districts to be serviced.

basic_usage_2

  • Global Tab
    • Outside Connection Intensity: Global setting that controls how much trade takes place with outside connections. Note that this is a separate setting from a similar control in the Optimised Outside Connections 2.0 mod.

Supply Chain Building

basic_usage_3

  • BuildingId: The unique id of the building. You can also enter a valid building id to select that building's policies.
  • Outgoing Tab
    • All Local Areas: If selected, all local areas are serviceable. If not selected, then the districts served dropdown menu appears.
    • All Outside Connections: If selected, then shipments to outside connections are allowed.
    • Supply Reserve: Default 100. Specifies the percentage of goods reserved for specified supply chain and district policies. Excess goods is sold to other districts or outside connections.
    • Supply Chain: If specified, then the listed buildings are serviceable by this building.
    • Districts Served: Allow users to select one or more districts to be serviced. Note that, unlike previous version of the mod, a supply chain building will service both the buildings specified in the Supply Chain setting AND the districts selected.

basic_usage_4

  • Incoming Tab
    • All Local Areas: If selected, shipments from all local areas are accepted. If not selected, then the districts served dropdown menu appears.
    • All Outside Connections: If selected, then shipments from outside connections are allowed.
    • Supply Chain: If specified, then shipments from the listed buildings are allowed.
    • Districts Served: Allow shipments from one or more districts to be serviced. Note that this is new set of policies that allow users to control where shipments may be accepted from. A recommended policy for the Industries DLC buildings is simply to restrict shipments from their home industrial district.

basic_usage_5

  • Global Tab
    • Outside Connection Intensity: Global setting that controls how much trade takes place with outside connections. Note that this is a separate setting from a similar control in the Optimised Outside Connections 2.0 mod.
