git clone https://github.com/DSchau/dotfiles.git
- Run the init script:

- This will install some things like ZSH, homebrew, configure folders, etc.
- Run the bootstrap script:
./bootstrap.sh
- This will copy over config files like .bashrc, .bash_profile, etc.
- Run the macOS init script:
./.macos

./brew.sh
To update, cd
into this local dotfiles
repository and then:
source bootstrap.sh
Alternatively, to update while avoiding the confirmation prompt:
set -- -f; source bootstrap.sh
If ~/.path
exists, it will be sourced along with the other files, before any feature testing (such as detecting which version of ls
is being used) takes place.
Here’s an example ~/.path
file that adds /usr/local/bin
to the $PATH
:
export PATH="/usr/local/bin:$PATH"
