Commands are essential to running a shakha as they are a quick and efficient way of organising a group to maximise the amount of time we have in shakha.
In order to address the right commands to the right people, we would prefix our command with an addressee.

Saavadhan | Be attentive, please listen for the next command or set of instructions. |
Daksha | This command brings the entire organization to attention. |
Samyek | To get in line with the person on the right or front of you. |
Sampata | To line up. |
Dhwaja Pranam | This is the command to join your hands and offer salutations to The Saffron Flag |
Vikira | This is the command to disperse. Turn to the right, do pranaam to the Karyavaha and disperse. |
Mandala | This command is given when the shikshak wants you to form a circle. |
Uthishta | This command is given when the shikshak wants you to stand up. |
Upavisha | This command is given when the shikshak wants you to sit down. |
Ek Shaha Sampata | This command is given when the shikshak requires all of you to come together in a line by order of height. |
X Pada | This command is to move the a group or indivdual using steps. e.g. Eka Pada Prati Sara (see below) |
Dakshina Sara | Move Right. |
Vama Sara | Move Left. |
Prati Sara | Move Back. |
Pura Sara | Move Foward. |
Ardha Vrutha | Turn around 180 degrees. Turn from the right side. |
Vama Vrutha | Turn around by 90 degrees. Turn to your left. |
Dakshina Vrutha | Turn around by 90 degrees. Turn to your right |
Prarthana | This is the command to start the prayer |
Gana Vi-bhag | Command to divide the group into two |
Dwi-Thathi | Command to form two lines |
Ansha-bhag | Command to divide the group into three |
Tria-Thathi | Command to form three lines |
Gana-bhag | Command to divide the group into four |
Chatush-Thathi | Command to form four lines |
Eka-Thathi | Bring lines back to one |
Sthaba | Stop |
Kuru | A command to begin/do an activity |
Sangha Samyek | This command ensures that the entire assembly is in the right placement |
Pura Yuja | Fill in the gaps in front of you |
Kendra Yuja | Fill in the gaps to the right of you |
