Comic Vine Scraper is an add-on script for ComicRack that lets you 'scrape' (copy) details from the Comic Vine database into your comic book files and into your ComicRack database. You can use it to scrape a large amount of extra information, including titles, ratings, characters, teams, plot summaries, writers, letterers, cover artists, publication dates, and much more.

Make sure you have the latest ComicRack installed before you begin!
- Download and save the latest Comic Vine Scraper '.crplugin' file (see above).
- Close ComicRack if it is running.
- Double-click on the downloaded '.crplugin' file.
OR
- Download and save the latest Comic Vine Scraper '.crplugin' file.
- Close and Restart ComicRack.
- Use the menu to go to Edit -> Preferences... -> Scripts
- In the Script Packages section, click on Install
- Choose the '.crplugin' file that you downloaded, then click OK.
The steps for updating to a new version of Comic Vine Scraper are the same as the steps for doing a fresh installation. You do not need to uninstall the older version before installing the newer version.

Once you've finished installing the script, be sure to obtain a free personal API key from the Comic Vine website. You'll need to provide this API key the first time you run Comic Vine Scraper.

Select one or more comic books, then click on the Comic Vine Scraper icon (
-OR-
Select one or more comic books, right-click on them, and choose Automation -> Comic Vine Scraper... from the menu that appears.
-OR-
Select a single comic book, and choose Edit -> Get Info... from the ComicRack menu. A window will appear, showing you some details about the comic. Click on the "Comic Vine Scraper" button located at the bottom of this new window.
