v4.0.0

NOTE: This release is a moderate, but significant, redesign of all of the core components. The parts from previous versions will largely not work with anything from this version on.

Improvements

  • The vertical space inside the frame has been increased by 2mm, to allow for more levers without needing the "basin" in the bottom panel.
  • Accordingly, the basin has been removed from all bottom panels.
  • The rounded bottom of the frame has been removed, making the formerly "inset" bottom panel be the entirely bottom. This is primarily to simplify the print and improve plate adhesion, but it does create an interesting look.
  • The rounded top of the frame has also been removed, it's just a bevel now.
  • A chamfer has been added to the frame mount columns to improve stability.
  • The top panel has a post that enters the frame mount column, this is done to add more friction to the fit of those parts.
  • The lever spacer has been moved out of the panels and into its own part. I think this slightly affects the sound of a lever, but it also leaves the door open for different spacer widths down the road.
  • The cost estimate has been updated for my preferred printing settings.

Fixes

  • The 24mm buttons had a math error in the space necessary for screw-ins, leading to the "auxiliary" buttons and frame side cutouts being spread further apart than they needed to be.
