Github Macros

A fun way to communicate on Github using images, memes and gifs.

What is Github Macros?

It is a chrome extension that lets you to easily pop up a media selection UI and to ad to your comment an image, meme or gif. In addition, you can contribute and to add your own favorite images and gifs.

How to install?

1. Clone the repo
2. On chrome, go to chrome://extensions/
3. On the top right side, turn on Developer mode
4. On the top left side, click on Load unpacked and select /github-macros/extension folder

You have successfully installed Github Macros chrome extension :)

If you already installed it and want to update it after pulling new version, on the extensions screen click on the reload button on the exstension's card

How to use?

On every comment box on Github, simply start a new word with the character ! in order to show the media selection UI.

Alternatively, if you already know the name of the image you would like to use, you can type $image_name$ and it will replace this pattern with the desired image/gif.
