Consumption and production

In addition to building populations, Realistic Population 2 also changes building consumption and production rates to more realistic values. All of these values are configurable via the 'Consumption' tab of the options panel.

The following values are changeable and editable independently for each building service:

  • Electricity consumption
  • Water consumption
  • Garbage production
  • Sewage production
  • Pollution (ground pollution)
  • Noise (noise pollution)
  • Mail generation
  • Wealth (for calculating city tax revenue)

These amounts are per-building production multipliers, which feed into the base game's consumption and pollution calculations - as such, normal game effects (such as district policies) will have their normal relative effect on these amounts.

The mod's default values were calculated by Whitefang Greytail, and are based on real-world figures for Perth, Western Australia (and are reasonably representative of the western world as a whole).
