This is the Antumbra Glow client for Linux (/ BSD / Unix-like / anything with a POSIX interface that doesn’t totally suck).
- Python 3
- libantumbra (https://github.com/TeamAntumbra/libantumbra) installed to a
standard location (
libantumbra.so
in/lib
,/usr/lib
,/usr/local/lib
, etc) - libusb 1.x.x (for libantumbra). Not libusb 0.x.x or libusb-compat! Seriously, it won’t work.
- X window server (or X-compatible, like XWayland)
- ffmpeg (specifically, the
x11grab
device for screen capture)
Simply follow the standard distutils
process. You can install system-wide with
python setup.py install
, or to your home directory with python setup.py
install --user
. However, the recommended approach is to create and/or install a
distro package, so you can easily uninstall or upgrade it later.
python setup.py bdist
will create a distribution tarball, which can be
converted to a distro package by distro-specific means, or extracted directly
into /
(not recommended).
There are no binary components, so builds are non-architecture-specific.
$ antumbra
Or direct execution via Python:
$ python3 -m antumbra
This is how you perform reasonably efficient screen color captures using
ffmpeg
:
$ ffmpeg -nostdin -loglevel quiet -f x11grab -framerate 4 \ -video_size 1920x1080 -i :0.0+0,0 -f rawvideo -pix_fmt rgb24 \ -vf scale=1:1 - | xxd -p -c 6
Adjust sizes and season to taste. You’re welcome.
