SapienzaPay is a prototype financial technology (FinTech) application developed to streamline university-related financial transactions for students and their parents. Created as part of the Human-Computer Interaction course at Sapienza University of Rome, the app provides a modern, user-friendly interface designed to simplify tuition payments and account management. The app was developed as a prototype with Apple’s design guidelines, focusing on the needs of both students and parents.
The SapienzaPay app is designed to offer a smooth and intuitive experience for both students and parents:
- Login and User Identification: A simple login interface where users can identify themselves as either a student or a parent.
- Student Dashboard:
- Home Tab: View the university bank account balance and recent transactions.
- Tuition Fees Tab: Track and pay tuition installments directly through the app.
- Profile Tab: Manage personal information and app settings.
- Parent Dashboard:
- Installments Tab: Overview of the child’s remaining tuition installments with payment functionality.
- Profile Tab: Manage account settings and personal preferences.
The design of SapienzaPay focused on delivering an intuitive user experience, adhering to Apple's design principles. The app was prototyped with a strong emphasis on usability and interaction:
- Apple Interface Design: A clean and responsive interface was crafted, keeping user experience at the forefront.
- User Flows:
- Student Flow: Tailored for easy navigation from login to financial management.
- Parent Flow: Simplified interface focusing on tuition payments and account management.
- Prototyping and Testing:
- High-fidelity prototypes were created to simulate real-user interactions.
- Usability testing was conducted to ensure smooth navigation and task completion.
While SapienzaPay is currently a prototype, there are several key areas for future development:
- Backend Integration: Implement a functional backend to support real transactions and data storage.
- Cross-Platform Development: Expand the app to include Android and web versions.
- Enhanced Features: Add detailed transaction history, notifications, and support for multiple languages.
