If you play a cutscene or dialogue with gamespeed set below 100%, the game will get stuck in cutscene mode after the cutscene ends. This results in being unable to open the PDA, although you can still use the staff and pause menu. If letterboxing is enabled, black bars will be permanently visible.
Here, I enter a dialogue with a character at 100% speed, which works fine (I can still open the PDA after that). However, if I decrease game speed to 75% then do the exact same thing, I won't be able to open the PDA anymore until I quit and reload a save:
gamespeed.mp4
Note that I have letterboxing disabled in the above video.
Thankfully, this doesn't "poison" your save, so making a save after ending a cutscene then reloading it will work fine to get yourself out of this situation.
I've reproduced this with game speeds set to 25%, 50% and 75%. This bug doesn't occur with game speeds above 100% (even 400% works fine).
PS: Thanks for making this mod, there's a lot of nice QoL additions 🙂
Reason I was tinkering with gamespeed was checking out how viable 120 FPS gameplay would be, although audio playback would need to be fixed (something Dolphin tinkered with but eventually removed).
