Introduction

The QA451 and QA451B are the same product, except for a slight difference in the current sensing accuracy. For the remainder of this document, they will both be referred to as the QA451, and any difference will be noted.

The QA451 is a companion product for the QA40x series of audio analyzers. Combined, the two products (QA451 + QA40x) can quickly test amplifier performance at both 4 and 8 ohms at power levels up to 200W. Note that the QA451 isn't designed for testing at continuous power dissipation exceeding 10's of watts for extended periods. Instead, the average power must be looked at in the context of "watt seconds", and the average power must be around 5-10 watts or so.

When the QA451 application is installed, the HELP menu will launch the PDF. There is a section in the manual explaining how to create a test plan that can test up to 300W for short periods (0.4 seconds) while maintaining an average dissipation of 5W.
