Trying to capture some first-impressions of lemmy experience and photon... When creating a post, I think the URL line just says "URL" and doesn't emphasize it is optional. A title is not optional, but URL is. Ok, where does it notify me of new replies? I was using photon and then I glanced at my same user on lemmy-ui and saw I had a notification from a reply 90 minutes earlier. From a new-user perspective, it doesn't seem very clear to me where - and if it even works? The editing of a comment after you create the comment... the original creation of a comment is in-page, where the edit uses a pop-up modal dialog. I need to investigate if there is a parameter to change this. As it prevents you from referencing the other comments or post to quote, etc. sending a private message is modal dialog, would prefer option on that. Receiving private message is confusing. There is no date and it doesn't say "private message"... and there doesn't seem to be a per-item ability to check as read. You have to do "mark all as read". The hovering over timestamps only shows date. lemmy-ui is better about showing the exact time of creation and edit times. Need to investigate this further. Also multi-lingual support, can some of Lemmy-ui be brought in? Communities list I find difficult to find, the explore up right. I think an options should be to have a big fat communities link in middle top of the screen - more where lemmy-ui puts it, as second entrance. And it doesn't seem to support sort order changes like lemmy-ui has on ofr default. My lemmy server isn't updating "TopAll" sort for some reason, shows only local when selecting remote too. Edited dates don't seem to be shown on post and comments? 'Z' is hard-coded into date string as a workaround to Lemmy 0.18.4 and earlier not having time-zone? |

This all seems client-side rendering SvelteKit, might be nice to have a server-side rending options for home-page of website / search engines. I sitll think this is a great start. I hope it attracts more people as a code base. |

"A sleek client for Lemmy with powerful mod and admin tools. The only alternative client with feature parity to the official client."
