Newly arrived adult and elderly immigrants and refugees often face significant challenges in learning English, which hinders their ability to adapt and integrate into Canada.
We created CamLingo, an Android app designed to help newly arrived adult and elderly immigrants and refugees in Canada learn English in an engaging and effective way.
The app provides lessons that teach users English basics such as:
- 📝 Verbs, nouns, and adjectives
- 📖 Vocabulary through listening, reading, and repetition
Users can learn to identify everyday objects by:
- Uploading a photo into the app
- 📷 The app uses machine learning to identify the object
- 🔊 Displays the name and reads it aloud to help with pronunciation
Users can log in daily to:
- 🏆 Complete daily quests and earn points
- 🧠 Sharpen their memory through interactive tasks
- 🎮 Make learning fun and rewarding
