nice work finding this solution, and then testing it. I'll merge this in to see if it works on this upstream repo and use the "squash and merge" option for this pull request to combine all of your commits into a single commit to simplify the history. |

this works for my repository to automatically update the github pages, i had to create a new directory and yml file, not sure if this is the best way to go about it.
