Motivation for the creation of the program

According to estimates, in 2022, the number of losses suffered by victims in Poland as a result of scams under the pretext of investment on online platforms amounted to more than 200 million PLN. In all these crimes, the perpetrators used remote desktop software. One of the most popular remote desktop software is AnyDesk. It allows you to remotely connect to a computer or phone using the Remote Desktop Protocol. This program is used by criminals to siphon funds from victims' accounts, as it allows them to take control of the victim's computer. AnyDesk retains the program's log files, which contain, among other things, data on the date, IP address, and source port from which the computer was logged in remotely. The above information can help identify individuals who use the said program for Internet fraud. In many cases, enforcement officers on duty in field units do not have the technical knowledge and skills to properly find, search and secure the program's logs. This significantly limits subsequent detection capabilities in the course of a pre-trial investigation, and thus its effectiveness. The AnyGrabber program was created precisely to facilitate the process of locating, searching, and securing program logs. At the same time, it allows you to generate reports that later improve the process of further processing of the collected data and facilitate their use in creating applications, for example, to the Prosecutor's Office.
