ESOPE 3.3 LTS

This release is based on Elgg 3.3 and follows its updates.

ESOPE 2.3 LTS

This version based on Elgg 2.3 can be used in production.
Security updates are available following Elgg 2.3.x releases.

New projects should consider using the latest LTS version.

ESOPE 1.12 LTS

Latest production version based on Elgg 1.12.18. Support for Elgg 1.x is discontinued since the end of 2019.
This release should be only used for upgrades from previous versions.

ESOPE 1.8 LTS

ESOPE 1.8 is based on latest Elgg 1.8.x version

It should be used for existing projects only, new project should use latest ESOPE LTS release.

ESOPE 1.12 LTS

ESOPE 1.12 is based on latest Elgg 1.12.x version

In 2016, this is the recommended version for new projects.
Generally, new project should use the latest ESOPE LTS release.

DO NOT USE THIS VERSION !

ESOPE 1.11 is a transitional release that should be used ONLY to upgrade ESOPE 1.8 to ESOPE 1.12
For new projects, please choose latest ESOPE LTS release.

ESOPE / Elgg upgrading process involves applying each version at a time until the desired version is reached.
To upgrade from ESOPE 1.8 to ESOPE 1.12 :

• proceed to usual Elgg upgrade actions (backup database, disable caching, disable plugins that will not be used in target version, etc.)
• switch from master or esope_1.8 to esope_1.9, then apply any required upgrades
• switch from esope_1.9 to esope_1.10, and apply upgrades
• switch from esope_1.10 to esope_1.11, and apply upgrades
• switch from esope_1.11 to esope_1.12, and apply upgrades
• finally enable desired / updated plugins (and especially "esope", "ckeditor", "fontawesome"...)
