Summary

Mods "[Magiclysm] Add some new high Difficulty spells"

Purpose of change

As title. More spell ideas.

Describe the solution

Add the following spells:

DRUID

  • Awakening of the Forest Guardian (Difficulty 12): Allow a tree to pick up its roots and start murdering the enemies of nature. This turns a tree into a treant, an extremely tough though very slow combatant. A single treant can kill dozens of basic zombies, smashing them to a pulp with its branches or squeezing them into paste with its roots, and you had better hope one treant does the job because this spell costs 850 mana to cast. When the treant dies, it turns back into a tree.
  • Fountain of the Depths (Difficulty 8): Turn a nearby patch of diggable ground into a spring. When the spell's duration expires, the spring dries up.

I also added treants to the nature spirit list to find in the forests, though they're a very rare spawn.

EARTHSHAPER

  • Earth Gate (Difficulty 8): While standing on diggable ground, sink into the earth and reappear from any other patch of diggable ground within the spell's range.

KELVINIST

  • Flames of the Apocalypse (Difficulty 15): Causes everyone in the spell's area of effect to swell up with fire mana and explode. At higher levels these explosions can also affected adjacent targets, causing a cascade of death. Not particularly effective against a single target, however. The Difficulty is set taking [Magiclysm] Progressive Difficulty reduction the more spells of that school you know #78602 into account. Requires a ruby to cast, with a note that once crimsonite chunks are possible you should be able to use those too.

MAGUS

  • Adamantine Gaol (Difficulty 10): Imprison the target in an impenetrable barrier, preventing it from moving, attacking, or taking damage for the spell's duration. The spell is expensive but quick to cast, and it does work on allies or on yourself if you want to think tactically about it.

Hints for adding a new word to the dictionary
